Helping Seniors Get Back to Work

Mature Services, a nonprofit in Akron, Ohio, operates nine Senior Employment Centers and provides training and placement for thousands of older job-seekers. The organization needed a reliable way to assess participants’ baseline skills—especially computer-based abilities—and found many seniors struggled with standard online tests, making it hard to tailor training and demonstrate progress.

Mature Services selected eSkill for its flexible, customizable assessments and multi-location subscription. Over four years they built tests across math, language, Microsoft programs, retail, accounting, customer service and custom job-focused content, using pre/post testing to track gains. The neutral, measurable results boosted participants’ confidence, helped staff target training, reduced costs while keeping each center independent, and contributed to more hires in front desk, call center and customer service roles.
