Vodafone D2 GmbH, one of Germany’s leading mobile providers with about 30 million customers, faced a major document-management challenge: a heterogeneous, outdated fax infrastructure handling well over 300,000 faxes per month and roughly 14 million incoming documents a year. The company needed to boost employee productivity, reduce costs and processing times, ensure round‑the‑clock reliable delivery of contractual documents, and meet strict archiving and privacy rules.
Vodafone implemented Esker DeliveryWare (via partner ATemp), a centralized, fail‑safe platform with a patented rules engine, OCR/image recognition, web validation and learning functions, signature detection and ERP integration to automate incoming and outgoing document workflows. The result: automated processing of 14 million documents annually, faster and more reliable handling and archiving (including separation of ID copies), reduced manual effort and costs, improved service quality and higher customer satisfaction.
