Total Administrative Services Corporation (TASC) supports federal and private clients with benefits, tax, and HR services and faced a major challenge processing paper-heavy submissions for the OPM Combined Federal Campaign (CFC). With forms and financial paperwork from roughly 25,000 charities being manually entered—an expensive, time-consuming process—TASC selected Ephesoft and its Ephesoft Transact advanced document capture/OCR platform to automate high-volume data capture and classification.
Ephesoft implemented Transact in December 2016, configuring seven document types and using its machine-learning extraction to classify documents, capture 16–22 index fields per form, and export metadata and PDFs into OPM’s database. The solution processed 1.5 million pages in 10 weeks plus about 1 million audit pages (≈25,000 files), used an 80% confidence threshold to minimize manual review, and delivered streamlined workflows, measurable time and cost savings, and monitored high performance via Ephesoft’s reporting modules.
