OneDataSource Cooks Up a Fast Accounts Payable Solution for the Fast Food Industry

OneDataSource, a data management and SaaS business intelligence provider for major quick-serve restaurant brands, needed to eliminate paper-based accounts payable and find an OCR engine to embed in its patent-pending onePAY workflow. After evaluating about 20 vendors over six months and shortlisting three, OneDataSource selected Ephesoft (testing the community version) because Ephesoft Transact met their requirements for Linux compatibility, RegEx support, table OCR processing and exportable captured data.

Ephesoft’s intelligent document capture was integrated into onePAY to ingest, classify and extract invoices and drive rule-based coding, approval and routing. The Ephesoft-enabled solution onboarded more than 2,000 QSR locations in the first 12 months, produced a $1,500/month mailing cost saving for a 50-location brand, and increased AP staff productivity from roughly 50–80 restaurants to about 400 per person; a 750-location client reduced clerical processors from nine to three plus a manager, demonstrating clear scalability and cost savings.
