A Ephesoft Case Study
Norman & Company, Inc., a family‑owned third‑party administrator in the automotive after‑market, was struggling with a fast-growing influx of hard‑copy contracts—up to 15,000 documents per month—while operating with a 29‑person staff and limited space. With slow industry adoption of e‑contracting, the company needed a more efficient way to capture, classify and store complex mixed‑size forms; after evaluating options and working with Konica Minolta, they selected Ephesoft and its Ephesoft Smart Capture solution.
Konica Minolta brought Ephesoft in to demonstrate and configure the system, and Norman & Company purchased Ephesoft in October 2015 and had it fully implemented by July 2016. Ephesoft Smart Capture automated classification and extraction from complex forms (checkboxes, free‑form fields, mixed sizes), integrated with existing scanners/MFPs and the ERP, and significantly reduced manual processing effort. Ephesoft’s deployment streamlined document intake, eased pressure on headcount and storage needs, and set the firm up to expand automated processing—Norman & Company is now planning to double the volume routed through Ephesoft as they continue ERP enhancements for additional savings.
