InterFirst Mortgage Company, a large mortgage wholesaler handling 15,000–25,000 documents monthly, was slowed by a manual, error‑prone Conditions Clearing and HUD‑1 review process. InterFirst selected Ephesoft’s OCR/intelligent document capture (using Ephesoft’s Web Services API and the ACE tool) to automatically classify, separate and extract data from paper, PDF and electronic loan documents.
Ephesoft—implemented and customized by partner Zia—was integrated into InterFirst’s portal to auto‑classify uploads and extract data, achieving over 90% accuracy for most document types and about 95% on closing/HUD‑1 tests. The Ephesoft solution delivered a sevenfold increase in productivity, cut closing and HUD‑1 processing times by roughly 67% (reducing closing‑document processing from 15 to 5 minutes per loan), and freed seven staff for higher‑value projects, providing immediate ROI.
