McDougall Scientific, one of Canada’s leading contract research organizations with over 30 years’ experience, needed a validated, highly available IVR/IWRS solution that would integrate with its virtualized MS SQL environment, support VOIP/SIP, handle multi-site randomization and drug‑supply workflows, and come with strong professional services and training. After an RFP process McDougall selected Enghouse Interactive’s Communications Portal (CP) to meet those regulatory, continuity and developer‑skill requirements.

Enghouse Interactive implemented its Communications Portal to provide IVR/IVRS/IWRS, outbound messaging, and unified communications that were customized for complex randomization, adaptive designs and just‑in‑time trial supply management. Since going live in 2013 McDougall has improved business continuity with a cold stand‑by, set up new study centers simply by provisioning phone numbers, delivered key business metrics on time and on budget, and automated alerts for expiring or low supplies—resulting in more efficient randomization, tighter inventory control and scalable, auditable operations enabled by Enghouse Interactive.
