A EnergySavvy Case Study
PSEG Long Island partnered with EnergySavvy to tackle a common energy efficiency challenge: getting timely, reliable feedback on savings from residential program projects. In PSEG Long Island’s Home Performance Direct program, customer billing data was only available every other month, making it difficult to identify performance trends, over- or under-delivering measures, or emerging issues during the program year.
EnergySavvy implemented its M&V 2.0 software to analyze nearly 1,100 projects from the 2013 program year using baseline and comparison-group billing data. The pilot showed EnergySavvy’s results matched existing evaluation findings within a 6% margin of error and produced a statistically significant year-end savings estimate after just three bi-monthly meter reads, giving PSEG Long Island faster, actionable insight into program performance.
