The Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) is a large Finnish research and development institute (1,000+ employees) responsible for communicating public health information across many topics. During the COVID-19 pandemic its social media workload and team size grew substantially, creating a need for easier information sharing among staff and a unified way to publish, monitor and respond across channels. THL addressed this by deploying Emplifi’s unified social media management platform.

Emplifi delivered a single platform for publishing, notifications, reporting and community management so THL could mark comment status to avoid duplicated work, quickly remove misinformation, and test tailored content across channels. The solution supported 89 social media campaigns in 2020, saved significant staff time, increased content engagement through rapid concept testing, and made cross‑channel performance data readily comparable—helping THL manage the COVID-driven surge in activity and make its social communications more conversational.
