Engaging 500 employees with online learning in the retail industry

Johannes Fog, a Danish building-supply retailer with 10 stores and about 500 users in eastern Denmark, needed to educate staff across a huge range of products. Implementing the eloomi learning management solution was technically simple, but Learning Coordinator Laura Drejer Larsen faced the harder challenge of getting 500 busy employees to adopt and use online learning in their daily work.

eloomi’s built-in gamification and point system were used to run individual and store competitions with rewards (movie tickets or a cake), supported by supplier-sourced micro-learning modules and bonus points for extra learning. The approach noticeably increased engagement — two employees completed all 150 modules — and 80% of learners said the training was useful and easy to apply, showing clear measurable impact from eloomi at Johannes Fog.
