DACHSER, a global logistics provider with 396 locations and more than 20,000 end users, faced a major IT challenge when migrating its large Citrix estate from XenApp 6.5 to Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops 7.15. Citrix EdgeSight was being retired and Citrix Director lacked the deep, end-to-end visibility DACHSER needed across its heterogeneous environment (1000+ servers, XenApp/XenServer, NetScaler, PVS, Oracle/SQL and HP‑UX systems), leaving the team unable to proactively detect and correlate issues across the full delivery chain.
DACHSER piloted and deployed eG Enterprise to gain a single pane of glass for Citrix and backend monitoring. eG’s automated correlation, root-cause diagnostics, proactive alerts and built-in reports enabled real‑time user‑experience monitoring (including logon simulators), faster troubleshooting and capacity planning. Within months the tool was used enterprise-wide, catching issues (for example a runaway Java memory process) before users complained, improving operational efficiency and assuring performance during and after the Citrix migration.
