Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI), one of Indonesia’s largest banks, set out to drive financial inclusion by digitizing core banking and launching new digital lending products for underserved micro and millennial segments. Constrained by legacy, paper‑based processes that could take up to two weeks for loan approvals, BRI partnered with EdgeVerve and adopted the Finacle Lending Module and Finacle Digital Engagement Hub to build a parallel, modern digital lending stack and enable fully digital customer journeys.
EdgeVerve’s Finacle suite powered BRI’s Pinang and Ceria apps, combined with BRI’s AI-driven BRIBRAIN analytics, to automate e‑KYC, digital signatures and machine‑learning credit scoring. The results: loan origination collapsed from two weeks to two minutes; Ceria achieved over 500,000 downloads in under a year, onboards ~2,500 customers daily and has reported zero defaults on digital credit scoring, while BRI’s Open API ecosystem processed over USD 3 billion in transactions—demonstrating measurable scale, speed and security delivered by EdgeVerve.
