A EdgeVerve Case Study
Bank of Baroda, one of India’s largest banks with a global footprint across 25 countries, faced fragmented IT landscapes, multiple legacy systems and slow, manual processes that hindered multi‑country operations, product rollout and correspondent banking/STP needs. To centralize operations, reduce costs and improve agility, Bank of Baroda engaged EdgeVerve to implement a unified banking platform—leveraging the Finacle universal banking solution—to replace disparate systems and standardize processes across its international offices.
EdgeVerve implemented a centralized Finacle core and e‑banking rollout, consolidating operations onto a Mumbai data center, enabling real‑time MIS (cutting reporting from weeks to minutes), Straight‑Through Processing for remittances (reducing India remittance time to a few hours), and rapid branch rollouts (e.g., Bahrain live in 19 days). The deployment eliminated the need for about 60 local IT supervisors, lowered total cost of ownership, sped product rollout across territories and materially improved transactional efficiency and risk governance—delivering measurable operational and cost benefits for Bank of Baroda under EdgeVerve’s solution.
