Mars, a global, family-owned business operating in 80+ countries, faced major product traceability and compliance challenges: 60% of units could not be traced within the required 4 hours, their legacy solution covered only ~40% of operations, and hold & release processes took about 2 days. To address this, Mars engaged EdgeVerve and its TradeEdge platform to design a scalable, template-driven solution that could integrate legacy and modern systems across factories and co-packers.
EdgeVerve implemented TradeEdge Market Connect, an AI/ML-powered data lake, and a Compliance Reporting Dashboard to harmonize data, establish parent–child relationships, and decouple hold & release from ERP systems, plus partner compliance governance and preconfigured onboarding templates. The result: hold & release time fell from 2 days to 2 hours (>90% reduction), pallet-level track-and-trace in near real time, faster partner onboarding and lower deployment costs, with the first POC delivered in 12 weeks.
