A EdgeVerve Case Study
Kotak Mahindra Bank, one of India’s leading financial services groups, faced a pressing core banking challenge: an aging, heavily customized legacy CBS that was expensive to maintain, lacked modern features (NEFT/RTGS, sweeps, flexi deposits) and could not scale with rapid growth. To replace that platform quickly and support ambitious expansion, Kotak selected EdgeVerve to deliver a modern core banking transformation using EdgeVerve’s core banking platform and integrated eBanking solution under a tight 18‑month big‑bang schedule.
EdgeVerve implemented its core platform across 340 branches, migrating ~2 million customers and 4 million accounts and integrating 72 surrounding systems via an enterprise bus, while delivering innovations such as a Common Beneficiary Module and a centralized Payment Hub. The cutover was completed with ATM uptime intact, just 30 hours of downtime for other channels and a 30‑hour data migration window; the bank gained 24x7 back‑office operations and >99.99% designed uptime. Measurable results included a 44% increase in new accounts in the quarter after go‑live, faster time‑to‑market for products, reduced integration effort (≈100 person‑months saved) and clear improvements in revenue and operational efficiency under EdgeVerve’s solution.
