These inaccuracies generated customer complaints, GDSN non‑compliance and disrupted orders, shipments and shelf placements — so EdgeVerve (using the Infosys Nia platform) was engaged to standardize data quality.
EdgeVerve implemented an Infosys Nia–based data quality framework aligned to GS1/GDSN, automating big‑data processing, report generation and integrating product, attribute and dimensional systems (HDFS/Spark/Hive, real‑time ingestion, UI data explorer and RESTful services). The work delivered measurable impact: data management efforts dropped by 30%, out‑of‑stock items fell from 8% to 3%, GS1 self‑certification costs were optimized, awards for GS1 implementation were received, and the overall cost/impact of bad data was reduced.
