MedPeds is a private MedPeds practice in Laurel, Maryland (eight providers, 23 staff, ~6,000 patients) that had relied on paper charts for decades. Lost charts, frustrated providers and gaps in quality prompted the practice to pursue an EHR to cut costs, improve clinical documentation and follow-up, reduce scheduling and billing errors, and enhance patient–provider communication.
