Using Telemedicine to Improve Compliance Among ADHD Patients

Rainbow Pediatric Center is a Jacksonville, Florida pediatric practice founded in 2004 that now operates two locations with eight providers. The clinic found that many ADHD patients were missing or delaying required three-month follow-up visits because busy families struggled to take time off school or work to come into the office.

To address this, the practice ran a three-month trial using eClinicalWorks’ healow TeleVisits for medically appropriate ADHD follow-ups, paired with outreach to families, e-prescribing, and Patient Portal enrollment. Within one month compliance improved by about 60%, roughly 80% of patients became active on the Patient Portal, and the clinic plans to extend TeleVisits to other services and behavioral-health care.
