Uplifting Community Through Better Dental Health

The Dimock Center, a Boston community health center with roots dating to 1862, needed a healthcare IT partner to help deliver high-quality, affordable dental care and to replace fragmented paper-based dental records. With a busy clinic serving underserved neighborhoods and hundreds of dental encounters weekly, the challenge was to streamline documentation, improve coordination with medical services, and increase clinic efficiency.

Dimock implemented the eClinicalWorks Electronic Dental Record for scheduling, exams, periocharting, imaging, referrals and patient engagement, fully integrating dental and medical charts. The EDR improved documentation and provider communication, sped check-in and workflows, supported better periocharting and referrals, and enabled the center to serve about 8% more dental patients while enhancing patient experience and training opportunities.
