How Telemedicine Improves Access

Project Vida Health Center is a Federally Qualified Health Center in El Paso, Texas, operating 13 locations with 21 providers and serving more than 13,000 patients. Many patients face transportation and technology barriers, and the center needed a way to deliver integrated medical, dental, and behavioral health services while preserving ongoing relationships between patients and their preferred providers.

By using the eClinicalWorks EHR with integrated healow TeleVisits™, Project Vida enabled telemedicine visits that let providers work remotely and patients connect from clinic workstations when home internet or devices aren’t available. The approach maintained uninterrupted care, improved provider work/life balance, increased access to behavioral health services, and positioned the center to expand telepsychiatry into schools and partner sites.
