How Better Data Improves Care and Reduces Costs

Orthopaedic Institute of Ohio needed a better way to build accurate, up-to-date patient histories while working with more than a dozen hospitals across northwest Ohio. Staff were spending hours manually retrieving records from 14 different hospital sites, making it harder to support physicians with complete information. The practice used PRISMA from eClinicalWorks to help solve this challenge.

eClinicalWorks implemented PRISMA, its health information search engine, to pull data from Epic, Cerner, Meditech, and other EHRs into eClinicalWorks in searchable timeline views. As a result, Orthopaedic Institute of Ohio reduced manual record retrieval, improved data aggregation and access, enabled better medical decision-making, and helped control costs by bringing information directly into eClinicalWorks.
