A eClinicalWorks Case Study
Chattanooga CARES (now operating as Cempa Community Care) is a nonprofit clinic serving about 750 people living with HIV/AIDS across southeastern Tennessee. Although the organization offered a full range of services—clinical care, counseling, testing, nutrition, and outreach—it needed a more cost‑effective way to inform patients and prospective patients about digital services and appointments because regular mail and traditional advertising were too expensive.
Having chosen eClinicalWorks as their IT partner in 2009, Chattanooga CARES implemented Patient Portal, Open Access®, Kiosk, Messenger, and healow TeleVisits, and engaged the healow Patient Relationship Management (PRM) Services team to run targeted Facebook ads, create a Patient Portal landing page, and add an appointment widget. At an average cost of $3.50 per day, two keyword-filtered campaigns reached 87 additional patients; overall the effort increased portal and app use, improved patient engagement, supported a new mobile clinic, and made comprehensive services more accessible.
