Carson Medical Group is a multi‑specialty practice in Carson City, Nevada, with 25 physicians serving family medicine, pediatrics, OB/GYN, ENT and pain management. Facing new Meaningful Use requirements and uneven staff and patient readiness for digital tools, the practice needed to encourage adoption of patient engagement technology to streamline workflows and maintain quality care.

Carson rolled out eClinicalWorks Patient Portal, Messenger and healow apps beginning in family medicine, paired with staff training, demonstrations, incentives and simple marketing (including a “Got Portal?” campaign). The phased approach drove steady increases in online engagement, helped meet Meaningful Use and improved office efficiency—enabling over 200,000 appointment reminders and broader adoption across specialties.
