South Lake Pediatric Group, a busy suburban Minneapolis practice with 41 providers across six locations, wanted to better serve families by making care more accessible and improving patient engagement. Their goal was to give parents convenient, 24/7 access to schedule appointments, view records, and communicate with clinicians while reducing call volume and cancellations during peak times.

Working with eClinicalWorks PRM Services, the practice implemented healow Open Access for online booking, Kiosk check-in, Patient Portal and healow mobile apps, backed by comprehensive staff training and patient education. The result: more than 80% of families use Patient Portal, 98–99% receive messages through eClinicalWorks Messenger, parents can book appointments anytime, and the practice has seen lower call volumes, fewer cancellations, and stronger overall engagement.
