A eClinicalWorks Case Study
Brookhaven Heart, an adult cardiovascular practice in Patchogue, New York, needed a better way to monitor patients’ blood pressure at home. Its prior third-party platform was cumbersome and costly, required the practice to manage devices and enrollments, and forced staff to switch between windows for documentation. Brookhaven turned to eClinicalWorks and its Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) module to address these challenges.
With eClinicalWorks, Brookhaven switched in March 2022 to an intuitive RPM workflow for blood pressure monitoring, allowing nurses and nurse practitioners to track readings, reduce costs, and keep care documentation in one place. The practice could choose and send cuffs and monitors directly to patients, improving the frequency and accuracy of electronically transmitted BP readings. The result was better documentation, more appropriate treatments, fewer hospitalizations, and greater peace of mind for patients.
