The Dimock Center, a Boston community health center with more than 150 years of service, needed a healthcare IT solution to modernize its dental clinic, replace paper charts, and better coordinate medical and dental care for underserved patients. The challenge was to improve documentation, periocharting, scheduling, referrals, and patient engagement while maintaining high-quality, affordable dental services.

Dimock implemented the eClinicalWorks Electronic Dental Record (EDR), integrating dental and medical records, digital x‑rays, templates, and periocharting into a single system. The EDR streamlined workflows, improved documentation and provider communication, sped check‑in and processing, increased patient satisfaction, and allowed the clinic to treat about 8% more dental patients—hundreds more per year.
