Case Study: South Dakota’s Bureau of Information and Telecommunications (BIT) achieves centralized statewide IT management and major travel/time savings with EasyVista

A EasyVista Case Study

Preview of the BIT Case Study

South Dakota’s Bureau of Information and Telecommunications (bit) manages statewide infrastructures from a single centralized location

South Dakota’s Bureau of Information and Telecommunications (BIT) supports roughly 9,800 computers across more than 240 cities from a centralized team, covering a statewide area that spans hundreds of miles. After a 15% staff reduction and with widely varying software and configurations across agencies, BIT needed better remote support, faster mass deployment of non‑Microsoft updates (Adobe, Java, etc.), and more efficient ways to respond across its distributed environment.

BIT deployed the Goverlan Remote Administration Suite to centralize remote control, scoped actions and automated jobs. The result: 431 fewer on‑site visits (about 60,800 miles avoided), maintained service levels with fewer technicians, improved first‑call resolution and faster mass software updates, plus greater technician efficiency and responsiveness through automation and expanded admin capabilities.
