A dscout Case Study
SiriusXM, a major audio entertainment company, faced the challenge of shifting its product innovation strategy beyond a major new app launch to compete with digital streaming services and attract younger "Zillennial" audiences. Laura Oxenfeld, a Senior UX Researcher, identified a gap in forward-looking strategy and partnered with dscout to leverage their platform for a bottom-up research approach to ideate future product concepts.
Using dscout's methodology, SiriusXM implemented a remote creative matrix workshop facilitated by Laura to generate new ideas. This solution utilized existing user research and business goals to produce 143 concepts. While initial top-down executive presentations had mixed traction, a pivot to a bottom-up approach of sharing concepts directly with product managers successfully integrated several ideas into the roadmap. The dscout-facilitated process also served as a valuable culture-building exercise, strengthening cross-functional relationships and demonstrating the research team's capacity to drive innovation.
