Crystal Palace Football Club needed to deepen relationships across a diverse fan base but lacked a clean, consolidated database and visibility into email performance. With fans spread across ticket buyers, web users and social channels, the club’s challenge was to increase engagement and make communications more relevant and measurable.
Partnering with dotmailer, Palace cleaned and merged disparate data sources, built capture campaigns, implemented segmentation, template testing and mobile-optimized messaging. The outcome: over 76,000 active members, more than 400,000 emails sent in January 2013 and a class-leading 35% average open rate — delivering stronger targeting, insight and fan engagement.
