Ordnance Survey worked with dotdigital to improve email performance during COVID-19 lockdown, using customer insights and creative email campaigns to re-engage subscribers. The challenge was to keep audiences engaged and drive revenue as promotional activity slowed, while also reducing unsubscribes and building the OS brand.
dotdigital helped Ordnance Survey shift from promotional emails to content-only messaging, resulting in a rise in engaged subscribers from 329,820 to 469,541 in just over six months. Email revenue increased from £494,869 to £708,353, beating target by 107%, while unsubscribes fell and revenue per click rose from 52p to £1.29.
