WeberHaus GmbH & Co. KG is a German maker of customizable prefabricated homes that prides itself on top quality and sustainable construction. Because each project generates hundreds of documents (e‑mails, CAD plans, specs, requisitions) and WeberHaus handles roughly 750 projects a year, information was previously stored in 2–3 paper binders per project and scattered on network drives — creating time-consuming searches and administrative overhead. The company needed a tamper‑free, centrally accessible system that would integrate with SAP and free employees to focus on core tasks.

To solve this, WeberHaus implemented the DocuWare document management system beginning with a six‑month pilot in fall 2014 and then rolled it out across departments and locations. Today up to 200–300 users access a central pool of about 230,000 documents with features like Autoindex, Outlook integration and automatic CAD indexing. The result: dramatically reduced search times and paper handling, faster customer service, more time for client work, and mobile access for field staff — with ongoing plans to complete SAP integration and add workflow automation.
