The Salmon Companies, a longtime USPS transportation partner founded in 1946, operates 30 locations and a fleet of 1,500 trucks delivering mail nationwide. Faced with inefficient, paper-based accounting and the need to align processes to strict government requirements (after acquiring a DocuWare-using business), Salmon needed a flexible, digital workflow that could be tailored to their single-customer model and complex operational needs.

Salmon implemented an on-premises DocuWare solution with a custom workflow built with employee input, electronic stamps and Intelligent Indexing, integrated with Microsoft Dynamics GP. The system now handles more than 15,000 accounts-payable documents per month, boosting productivity, cutting printing and offsite storage costs, eliminating filing errors, and has been expanded into HR and Safety to securely manage long‑retention and confidential records.
