SAMSON AG - Customer Case Study

SAMSON AG, a 1,500-employee manufacturer of instrumentation and control systems for industries such as chemicals and HVAC, faced overwhelming paper archives and slow, inconsistent access to documents. Sales alone produced up to 15,000 documents a day that were printed, filed locally, and often mailed between offices, making searches time-consuming and preventing assurance that staff had current, complete records. The company needed automatic archiving, a central document pool, company-wide access, integrated workflows, and ERP integration.

SAMSON implemented DocuWare enterprise-wide (integrated with its IFS ERP), deployed networked scanners and concurrent client access, and rolled out workflows for processes like invoice verification. Today about 500 users automatically archive roughly 150,000 documents monthly (~9 GB), cutting paper use by 75%, eliminating lengthy searches, speeding cross-department processes, and improving customer service, document availability and staff morale.
