Brauwelt Riegele, a family-owned specialty brewery in Augsburg founded in 1884, faced a growing “paper flood” from delivery slips and invoices across purchasing, accounting and logistics. The company needed tamper‑free, compliant archiving fully integrated with SAP, faster invoice processing to capture early payment discounts, and easier cross‑department access to customer documents.

Riegele implemented DocuWare on‑premises with a certified SAP connector to index and archive documents (about 840,000 records) and automate workflows. Daily processing now handles roughly 300 delivery slips and 50 incoming invoices electronically, enabling many same‑day invoice approvals, visible processing status in SAP, positive auditor feedback, reclaimed archive space repurposed for a Beer Academy, and plans to extend the system to more administrative workflows.
