TECHNO COLOR GmbH, founded in 1989 in Bogen, specializes in environmentally friendly surface finishing for automotive interior parts such as airbag covers, steering wheels and dashboards. The company faced a growing paper problem—about 1,000 pages a day and roughly 250,000 documents a year stored in binders and warehouses—leading to slow searches, duplicated records, and the need for tamper‑proof archiving and clearer cross‑department workflows.

TECHNO COLOR implemented DocuWare to barcode, scan and automatically archive incoming paper and ERP‑generated documents (using COLD/READ and other modules), with internet‑based workflows that route documents and notify responsible users. As a result, about 1,000 records are now stored digitally each day, storage space and search times have been greatly reduced, workflows and transparency improved across departments, customer service accelerated, and email archiving has cut unnecessary messages.
