Prophete, founded in 1908, is a leading German two‑wheel manufacturer and wholesaler with about 220 employees across multiple locations. Rapid growth and acquisitions created a flood of paper — roughly 4,000 documents daily and around 100 credit‑note requests — which made central control difficult, slowed invoice processing, and required a scalable, company‑wide document management and workflow solution integrated with their Navision ERP.

Prophete implemented DocuWare (with ACTIVE IMPORT and RECOGNITION) and ABBYY FlexiCapture 8.0 in a phased rollout, added scanners and selective email archiving, and digitized invoice and credit‑note workflows. The result was centralized, transparent processes with one‑click access to documents, about one man‑hour saved per day on credit‑note processing, faster invoice handling that enabled more discount payments, improved customer service, and a payback in just under two years.
