Profusio Leipzig (Profusio Leipzig Gesundheits GmbH) is a pharmaceutical contractor that produces patient-specific intravenous drips and must maintain strict GMP-compliant, audit-proof documentation. Faced with archiving about 1,500 pages daily (over 450,000 pages per year), the company needed secure, fast retrieval and a paperless workflow that integrates with its SteriBase production system.

In February 2010 Profusio implemented DocuWare integrated with SteriBase, adding barcode scanning, a Kodak scanner and electronic signature hardware; the solution and workflow were approved by the state testing authority. About 40 authorized users now access a centrally indexed repository (with remote VPN access), enabling automated production–QA–release processing; results include GMP-compliant archiving, faster checks and batch releases, immediate shipping after electronic sign-off, reduced paper and storage, simpler retrieval, and planned expansion to accounting and email archiving.
