dhmp GmbH & Co. KG is a Karlsruhe-based tax consultancy and accountancy firm that, after a 2009 merger, faced the challenge of consolidating massive paper archives and harmonizing staff used to both paper and electronic filing. The firm needed a central document pool integrated with its Addison tax/accounting software so employees could quickly find client records, access files remotely, and meet regulatory requirements such as GDPdU and GoBS.

dhmp implemented DocuWare (integrated with Addison) to scan, auto-index and automatically archive incoming and generated documents, add workflows, version control and web/VPN access, and use modules like Active Import, Recognition and Autoindex. The system cut paper storage, sped up searches and information exchange, improved client service and compliance, and delivered measurable efficiency and cost reductions — with broad rollout to all branches planned after fast early success.
