MANN Energie, a Langenbach, Germany specialist in wood pellets and eco-electricity, was struggling with mounds of paper—invoices, delivery slips, contracts and project notes—that consumed storage space, slowed processes and conflicted with the company’s environmental values. Seeking to cut processing times and eliminate their paper archive while keeping operations secure and scalable, they chose a document management system (DMS) to digitize and streamline company-wide workflows.

Working with an authorized DocuWare partner, MANN Energie built a central document pool and integrated DocuWare with Outlook, DATEV and their Merkator ERP, automating archival, workflows and supplier invoicing. The result: paper largely eliminated, remote access for employees and partners, month-end reporting and audits sped up, early-payment discounts captured, improved disaster recovery and compliance—and processing times for paper-based processes reduced by as much as 90%.
