A DocuWare Case Study
Lompoc Valley Cardiovascular Center (LVCC), a California-based cardiac diagnostics practice, was struggling with growing volumes of paper medical records, labor-intensive filing and retrieval, large off-site storage costs (seven-year retention requirement), and a daily influx of faxed paperwork that slowed workflows and patient service.
LVCC implemented DocuWare (Internet Server and Recognition modules) through a DocuWare partner, digitizing almost all documents, integrating with existing office software, routing faxes to a central workstation, and enabling e-signatures and remote access. The change eliminated much printing and off-site storage, cut photocopying by about 3,000 copies in one month, sped record retrieval for clinicians and billing staff, and improved efficiency, security and patient communication.
