Case Study: Sudhoff Technik GmbH achieves transparent, paperless warehouse workflows and faster customer service with DocuWare

A DocuWare Case Study

Preview of the Sudhoff Technik GmbH Case Study

Increasing Transparency with Tablet PCs

sudhoff technik GmbH, a German wholesaler of custom rubber, plastic and aluminum products, runs in-house quality control and bundles parts from many small suppliers to meet customers’ specific needs. Building a new logistics center revealed inefficiencies from a large paper archive and slow, error-prone shipment tracking: the company needed to electronically store roughly 130,000 outgoing shipping slips and invoices, integrate Tablet PCs and Microsoft Axapta, and make warehouse and QC workflows transparent and faster.

They implemented DocuWare in 2004 in phases, scanning outgoing and incoming documents (using a high-speed scanner and multi-function devices), auto-indexing records, and sending real-time updates to Axapta; Acer Tablet PCs give QC and warehouse staff wireless access to the central document pool. The system eliminated the paper archive, automated status-driven workflows, improved customer service, saved about 3.5 work hours per day, reclaimed archive space, and paid back the €57,500 investment in roughly 1.5 years.
