Georg Fischer DEKA GmbH is a German specialist in custom plastic piping for demanding industries—aircraft, automotive, chemical and medical—where rapid turnaround and strict product‑liability rules require decades of document retention. Facing a growing mountain of paper, fragmented individual filing systems and slow interdepartmental exchanges, the company needed a central, secure way to manage extensive production and ERP documentation.

Working with a DocuWare partner, DEKA implemented an electronic archive with scanners, a server, Ascent Capture for form recognition, and integrations to their ERP and communication tools to enable automatic indexing, barcode scanning and centralized access. The system now automates roughly 200 daily processes (up to 600 sheets), is used across all departments, and delivers faster customer responses, better internal communication and significantly reduced storage needs—the DMS investment paid for itself within two years.
