Mosscare Housing Ltd. is a charitable housing association in Greater Manchester (founded 1967) that manages around 3,500 properties with 100 administrative staff. Facing a paper archive of about 150,000 pages and fragmented document handling across departments, Mosscare needed a low‑cost, high‑function DMS that would centralise records, reduce retrieval time, support multiple simultaneous users, and integrate with their existing Link2 property management system.

In 2001 Mosscare implemented DocuWare: the archive was digitised, incoming mail/faxes/emails are captured electronically, and DocuWare modules (Active Import, Autoindex, CDMAKER, Recognition) were linked to Link2. Staff now retrieve documents instantly from their desktops, duplicate filing and physical storage have been eliminated, tenant service and internal efficiency have improved, and the investment paid back in under two years — an outcome the organisation calls an “IT success story.”
