EMOD Motors is a German family-run leader in custom electric motor manufacturing that processes more than a thousand documents daily. Faced with limited storage space, lengthy filing and search times, and slow cross-departmental order tracking (documents were printed from the AS/400 ERP and passed by hand), the company needed a way to reduce paperwork and increase transparency so employees could quickly find and act on order information.

EMOD implemented DocuWare on-premises integrated with their AS/400 ERP, added scanners and second monitors, and set up automated archiving plus cross-department workflows for proposals and complex order processing. The DMS provides full-text search, real-time status visibility, automated mailing and task routing, and easier handovers for absences—resulting in faster, more transparent order processing, reduced physical filing, and consistently up-to-date information for all departments.
