Jamestown Container Companies, a packaging supplier with five facilities in New York and Ohio, faced growing pain from a paper-heavy accounting process: dozens of full file cabinets of packing slips and invoices made retrieval slow and inefficient. Although drivers began capturing signatures on iPads and emailing proofs of delivery to customers, Jamestown still needed a reliable way to archive those digital proofs and quickly pull documents when customers called.
Toshiba Business Solutions implemented DocuWare and its Connect to Mail feature to automatically index and store proofs of delivery and integrated DocuWare with Jamestown’s accounting software. The result: near-instant document retrieval via a web browser, faster customer follow-up, removal of more than half the physical file cabinets (converted to office space), and expansion of DocuWare across accounting, customer service and production processes using workflows, Autoindex jobs and Active Directory integration.
