A DocuWare Case Study
Banco Atlántida S.A., founded in 1913, is Honduras’s leading full-service bank serving over 500,000 customers across all 18 provinces. Before DocuWare the bank relied on correspondence bags, microfilming and offsite paper storage, which led to slow retrieval, misfiled or poor-quality records, high maintenance costs and poor customer service—driving the COO to pursue a scalable paperless solution with searchable, branch-wide access.
The bank implemented DocuWare with branch scanning (Canon scanners) and an Authorized Partner performing 65% of onsite scanning, processing 2.2 million documents per month and archiving more than 135 million items. Integrated with CR MICRO and automatically indexed by date, branch, document and account data, the system is used by 700+ employees, supports ~26,000 monthly document accesses, dramatically cuts retrieval time and costs versus microfilm, improves customer service and regulatory compliance (e.g., delivering 22,000 check records within five days).
