Southeast National Bank (SENB), a regional bank with five branches and 65 employees, relied on a paper-based accounts payable process that required copying and shipping invoices between branches for approval. The slow, labor-intensive workflow was a bottleneck to growth, so SENB engaged its IT vendor to find a secure, efficient digital solution.

The vendor implemented DocuWare Cloud, trained staff, and integrated digital workflows with the bank’s Phoenix general ledger and Banktel AP software so invoices are routed and stamped electronically. Invoice approvals dropped from about a week to a few hours, approvals became transparent and searchable, the AP person could take on other duties, and the bank is positioned to grow without adding staff.
