Federation of Organizations is a multi-service non-profit serving New York City and Long Island that had used DocuWare on-premises for nearly a decade but relied on only basic features. Facing the need to improve efficiency, support remote work during COVID-19, and integrate with Abila MIP—all while avoiding headcount increases—IT leadership sought to expand DocuWare’s capabilities and reassure staff about cloud security.
The organization migrated to DocuWare Cloud in April 2020, integrating it with Abila MIP and activating automation like monitored folders, automatic document routing to in-baskets, and email notifications for approvals. The move minimized scanning, sped up approvals, kept workflows as efficient remotely as in the office, shortened transition time, and freed staff to focus on critical tasks while the nonprofit plans to add electronic HR forms and further digitize processes.
