British Gas, the UK’s leading energy supplier (part of Centrica plc), faced a time-consuming board process: multiple boards and committees required hefty paper packs distributed by mail and email, forcing directors to carry large volumes and administrators to spend hours assembling materials. The company wanted to reduce paper, speed up preparation and make it easier for attendees to review papers in advance.

British Gas quickly adopted Diligent Boards (Centrica had been using it), rolling it out to about 75 board and committee members and 12 administrators with straightforward training and dedicated account support. The move eliminated paper packs, saved hours of preparation per meeting, ensured members always had the latest documents even after last-minute changes, reduced printing costs, and delivered strong customer service and easier administration.
