A DigitalEd Case Study
The University of Canterbury faced a major challenge after the 2011 Christchurch earthquake disrupted campus operations and threatened continuity of student learning. DigitalEd helped the university respond by using its Möbius platform to move mathematics and statistics course materials online and support students during the interruption.
With DigitalEd’s Möbius, the University of Canterbury created weekly learning modules and online quizzes that students could complete anytime, anywhere, with randomized questions and multiple attempts. The approach enabled the university to deliver its full academic program in 2011, helped students resume coursework quickly after the earthquake, and produced strong results, including more than 80% of students in three first-year courses saying Möbius was a valuable learning aid and improved pass rates for weaker students.
